Archer 6.14 Release Notes

Archer announces the release of Archer 6.14, which includes new and updated features.

Important: Release Notes are available in English only.

What's New - Platform

  • Global Navigation. A new video is available to review the Archer global navigation (introduced in Archer 6.13). The Global Navigation delivers Modern User Experience through Mobile responsive UI. The flexible and responsive Navigation Menu and redesigned Environment bar create more space to display Record and Dashboard content.

  • Dashboards

    • New visualizations are incorporated, expanding the available options with the addition of Sunburst, Area, Date Range (Line), Bubble, Scatter, and Network Graph.

    • Support for non-hierarchical tables, including the ability to maintain column width of a saved report.

    • New widget type, Links, is added enabling users to navigate to different pages directly from the dashboard. This widget type supports internal page, reports, and external links.

    • Support for additional widget sizes, giving users more flexibility to tailor the dashboard as per their requirements.

  • Mapping. Mapbox is a modern, scalable mapping solution that includes the following capabilities:

    • Visualize the location of any record containing an address or latitude/longitude.

    • Configure and add Mapbox widgets to the next generation dashboard.

    • Filter map pins in real time.

    • Customize data layers for each asset (application) type.

  • Transitioning from 'RSA' Branding Update. In this release, references to RSAhave been removed from most customer-facing pages on the Archer platform.

    Key changes include:

    • Service names no longer include RSA.

    • Various Archer DLLs with RSA references have been renamed.

    • Hard-coded strings in logs, messages, and notifications have been updated.

    • Following the upgrade, when creating a new IIS application, the placeholder for the application name is labeled as Archer.

    Important: You may need to adjust monitoring due to these changes.

    Important: Some RSA references remain in the product. These will be addressed in future releases.

Audit Management - Audit Engagements & Workpapers

The Archer Audit Engagements & Workpapers use case incorporates the following changes to the Audit Engagement, Audit Workpapers, and Entity Scoping Unit applications. New functionalities are added to simplify the user experience and allow more effective monitoring of Audit activities. Existing audit dashboards are migrated to the Next Generation Dashboard.

Audit Engagement:

  • The user interface of the application is reorganized to provide the most relevant information with minimal navigation.

  • The new Information Request tab provides questionnaires, PBC documentation requests, and evidences to support the pre-planning phase.

  • Users can hide tabs & sections within the engagements.

  • Additional reports are incorporated to show findings, observations related to workpapers.

  • Risk Based Approach: Users can view risks and controls related to scoped processes through the Entity, Risk & Control report embedded in the engagement.

  • Control Based Approach: Users can view controls and risks related to scoped processes through the Entity, Risk & Control report embedded in the engagement.

Audit Workpapers:

  • Users can export Workpaper records that include user-selected data such as fields and applications to Microsoft Excel files. Excel displays each section in a Workpaper record on different worksheets in the file.

  • Archer delivers an email to the user that initiated the export, that includes a link to the exported Excel file.

Entity Scoping Unit:

The Entity Scoping Unit application supports scoping of additional applications mentioned below, which will also be available in the Entity, Risk & Control report.

Audit Management - Issues Management

The Archer Issues Management use case updates incorporate the following changes to simplify the Findings resolution process:

  • Updates to the Findings, Remediation Plans, Exception Requests, Change Requests and the Findings Folder applications.

  • Simplified layouts where tabs are converted into sections. Multiple layouts are merged into a single layout that is now used throughout the Advanced Workflow and can be updated.

  • All application layouts include an administrative layout to easily troubleshoot records.

  • The ability to update the Findings application with responses before submitting a Finding for review.

  • The ability to use the Change Requests application to update the target completion date for Remediation Plans and request an extension of the Exception Requests expiration date.

ESG Management

The Archer ESG Management 6.14 use case includes the following change:

  • Functionality for the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Initially developed for countries, UN SDGs became widely used by organizations across the globe to report on their sustainability goals and progress. The UN SDGs functionality developed in Archer ESG Management enables companies to automate this process through information gathering, mapping, and reporting.

    The key features of the UN SDG functionality include:

    • Ability to collect and track information across 17 UN SDGs

    • Ability to perform GRI/SASB metrics - UN SDG mapping

    • Intuitive workflow supported by UN SDG guidance

    • Reports to track status progress

Operational & Business Resilience Domain Manager Changes

To simplify and streamline our offerings for customers, Archer is combining the Business Resiliency solution and Operational Resilience solution into one solution called Archer Resilience Management. Archer Resilience Management encompasses a range of capabilities, including risk management, incident management and crisis planning, business continuity and IT disaster recovery, and operational resilience.

Recommendation for On-premise customers: Apply the latest update. All releases are cumulative. If you are running Archer Release 6.2 or earlier, you must first upgrade to Archer Release 6.8 and then upgrade to this latest release. To obtain Release 6.8, please contact your account representative or open a support case.
