Deleted records Audit History

A new role, Deleted Record Auditor, has been added. The Deleted Record Auditor and the Archer Administrator roles can use the Archer Deleted Content API (deletedcontent) to capture an audit trail that specifies which records were deleted from the system. The audit trail will include details on the deletion of records and include content ID, module and level ID, deletion date/time, and userid for who deleted the record.

For information on the deletedcontent API call, see "Retrieve a log of deleted content" in the API Help (https://help.archerirm.cloud/api_2024_09/en-us/content/api/restfulapi/segmentsresources/deletedcontent.htm).

Icon permissions modifications

API permission check for the /api/V2/internal/Graphics/DeleteByType endpoint has been modified to include a check for icons. The permission check for icons is also applied to the Manage System Appearance UI page.

Deprecation of external links file protocol

As previously announced, we are removing support in this release for File:// External Links as Browser vendors have removed support for this functionality. Upon upgrade, clients with File external links will find File is no longer an option from any areas of the product where an External Link Field can be created. For any existing links, the data is preserved on the Record page so the links can be copied and used in another tool for access. Clients have the ability to edit the links and change them to another protocol and URL reference. As part of the changes, Quick Links will no longer support links of this type. For existing Quick Links the file protocol option will be hidden, the existing link data will display but it will not be editable. A different protocol must to selected to edit the URL. Until altered, Quick Links with the file protocol links will appear in classic or Next Gen Dashboards but the removal of the browser functionality will prevent them from working.

There are places in Archer where clients can add links and may have chosen to use file:// links. Archer recommends clients alter these links as they will no longer work under the browser functionality changes. These types of links may have been configured in

  • Text area fields via the Insert link option from the Rich Text Editor

  • Insert file link in Notification body

  • Insert file link in custom iViews

  • Rich Text Editor Admin pages

Nested values list limit

A limit has been applied to Nested Values lists. If a Values List exceeds the nested limit the following error message is received:

Serialization error screenshot

An error message is logged to the W3WP logs that mentions “SerializationException”. The corresponding log message includes the field name that caused the exception to occur.

Archer recommends leaving the default limit of 500 in place for on-premises installations. A new setting, JSON Serializer Recursion Limit, has been added in the ACP under Other Settings, where It can be changed.

This feature is only available in English. It will be translated to other languages in a future release.

Database storage utilization

An iView has been added to the Administrator Dashboard to display the current Database Storage utilization and the Licensed Storage Limit on an instance.

TinyMCE Upgrade

The version of TinyMCE has been upgraded to v7.2.1 from TinyMCE 5.x. As part of their updates, TinyMCE has removed support for a plugin called fullpage, which changes the inner rich text to be a full page of html including the tags. This change may transform content produced by TinyMCE 5.x.

To address this, Archer has created a plugin for TinyMCE, that we will maintain going forward. Following upgrade to this release, content created/updated as a result of the TinyMCE 7 upgrade will be flagged with <!-- TinyVersion X.X.X -->. More details are provided in this Roadmap blog.

Data Import Listing pages

The Data Import Listing pages have had cosmetic UI changes. The functionality on the pages remains the same.

Deprecated features - Platform

The Offline Access feature is officially deprecated. The content for the feature will be removed from the Help in a future release.
