Archer 2025.12 Release Notes (On-Premises)

Archer announces the release of Archer 2025.12, which includes new and updated features, and fixed issues for Archer on-premises clients.

General availability: January, 2026

What's new - Platform

Advanced Workflow (AWF)

  • Support for translated languages in Advanced Workflow (AWF) general and custom nodes.

  • The 'Run Reference Feeds' option in the Launch Event node properties of an advanced workflow enables you to automatically run the reference data feed after the feed configured in the Launch Event node. For more information, see Building Advanced Workflows: Add a Launch Event Node in the Platform Help.

Appearances

Dynamic page header now offers 2 color modes: light and dark. This feature allows clients to customize the interface to suit their branding, especially if they have logos that are dark in color. By switching to a lighter header, the logo will be more clear and visible. By default, dark mode is enabled. Admins and back-office users have the option to switch the mode through the appearance settings. The icons will adjust automatically to match the selected mode; in dark mode, the icons will switch to lighter versions. Additionally, users are required to upload a logo that complements the header color.

Assessment & Authorization

Open Security Controls Assessment Language (OSCAL) Import functionality enables seamless data exchange between systems that are OSCAL-compliant, facilitating faster assessment and authorization processes by sharing data in a standardized format directly from Archer. It is a part of the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) use case to make use of the OSCAL-related applications.

Cross-reference fields

When a reference is added or removed through a cross-reference field, the 'last updated' dates for both the referenced record and the record containing the cross-reference field are updated to reflect the change in relationship. Additionally, the 'last updated' date of the referenced record is updated when the record containing the cross-reference field is deleted. For more information, see Cross-Reference Fields in the Platform Help.

Archer Platform has added error indicators for Calculated Cross Reference fields, making configuration or dependency errors clearly visible on the record page. For more information, see the blog article Improved Visibility for Calculated Cross Reference Field Errors on the Archer Community.

Dashboards

  • You can now add background colors to section divider widgets in Dashboards, making it easier to visually differentiate between sections.

  • You can now view Row format reports.

  • You can create custom widgets on the dashboard to create or do something specific.

  • You can add External Content widgets to display data from different sources outside of Archer on the Dashboard.

  • You can now use Bing Maps to visualize record data.

Data Gateway

Sorting is now available for data gateway fields, both in the Flexible SQL Connector or a custom connector. For instructions on enabling sorting in a custom connector, see Creating a Data Gateway Connector in the Platform Help.

Improvements

Inactive values displayed in the dropdown of a values list field are unavailable for selection when configuring the values list. For more information, see Managing Values in Values Lists in the Platform Help.

Libraries

Microsoft Visual C++ library upgraded to Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) 14.42.34438

Language support

Archer Platform now supports Arabic language. You can now access the platform with complete Arabic translations. While the user interface currently does not support right-to-left (RTL) text alignment, this is an important initial step towards offering a localized experience for Arabic users. Additionally, an Arabic version of Archer Help will be available in a future release.

Left panel filter & state persistence has been added to the navigation menu to help users quickly find what they're looking for. Users can now search within applications, dashboards, and questionnaires. The search results will narrow down choices and display a list of matching items, and by adding more characters the filter will narrow down the matches even further. The system starts filtering after typing the first 3 characters, and retains user selection on the left panel during the active session so that refreshing the page does not change their view of the panel.

Relationship Visualization

As part of our ongoing efforts to modernize Archer and deliver a more streamlined product experience, the Relationship Visualization feature has been deprecated. While this feature is no longer supported, the help topics remain for reference purposes.

Reports

  • New Administration Activity Logs report.

    • Monitors changes made by administrators, such as creating or deleting fields, updating field properties, and adding or removing fields from layouts in an application. It also tracks changes to field properties, including updates to field names, general information, options, help, and access properties. Administrators need Read access to view this report. To access this report, navigate to the menu and click Admin menu > Access Control > Access Control Reports. For more information, see Administration Activity Logs report in the Platform Help.

    • Tracks all application properties across applications, subforms, and questionnaires.

  • Reports Listing

    • The Solution column has been optimized to show each report only once, grouping associated solutions in one row for better performance and streamlined user experience.

    • A new capability of enable filter persistence gives the user the option to retain the last search throughout the session. Previously, when users applied filters to the reports, the filters would be reset upon a page refresh or when the session expired. If the Reports Listing is accessed by the user from an application in the navigation menu, the application filter will override any existing filters.

Servers

The version of the Archer Mail server (Internal Mail server) component has been upgraded.

User Authentication

Personal Access Tokens (PATs) provide a secure alternative user authentication process to traditional username and password methods. PATs offer valuable tracking capabilities that facilitate effective monitoring of token usage. With PATs, administrators gain knowledge about access patterns and detect any irregularities or unauthorized attempts to access sensitive information. This information is essential for maintaining compliance and enhancing overall security.

User Roles

You can manage Users Roles & Groups tabs with hierarchical group membership. The User Accounts All Report and the Manage User Page properly display roles granted through group membership as well as directly assigned.

Microsoft Graph API Support

The Archer Platform now supports the Microsoft Graph API for on-premises deployments. This update addresses the upcoming retirement of the APIs used for Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online in the Advanced Workflow Actions by Email feature and the Mail Monitor Transporter data feeds.

Improved File Uploads

The performance and consistency of file uploads has been improved. For more information, see Improving File Upload Performance & Consistency Across Our Platform on the Archer Community.
