Testing a Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery Plan

Archer allows you to test your business continuity or disaster recovery plans. A test exercise incorporates an expectation of a pass or fail element within the goal or objectives of the exercise being planned. A test is run when business continuity or disaster recovery plans are activated through a Testing/Exercise record. 1 or more plans can be tested and associated with a test event.

Archer also provides you with an automated process to plan for your next plan test date. An out-of-the-box data feed scans existing Test/Exercise records and copies the next test date of each open test record into a report. New test records are then automatically created, and a notification is sent to the test/exercise owner.

Here are the tasks to test your business continuity or disaster recovery plans:

  1. Use the Testing/Exercise application to test your BC or DR plan.

  2. Update the test results.

  3. Submit the test results for review.

  4. Review the test results.
