Enabling Proxy Communications for All Instances
Proxy communications is a global setting for all instances and is required if you are using a proxy server. To reduce the load on the proxy, you can add exceptions for specific IP addresses and domain names to bypass the proxy. For example, allowing Notifications and Archer to Archer data feeds to bypass the proxy enables direct communication within the same environment. You can add multiple IP addresses and IP ranges, as well as domain names. Use dashes for ranges, semicolons to separate each value, and asterisks for wild card characters. The following examples use special characters for ranges and wild cards:
- IP exceptions: 127.0.0.1; 192.0.0.5-192.0.0.50
- DNS exceptions: *abc.com; a*bcd.com
For more information on configuring proxy communications, see "Proxy Bypass Security Considerations" in the Archer Platform Security Configuration Guide.
Enable proxy communications for all instances

- In the Communication field, select Enable proxy communication.
- In the Server field, enter the name or IP address of the proxy server.
- In the Port field, enter the port ID of the proxy server.
- If required for the proxy server, enter the following authentication information:
- In the Username field, enter the user name that authenticates to the proxy server.
