Accessing ACP
The Archer Control Panel window opens during the final phase of the installation or from the Start menu.
Running ACP without administrator access
The ACP runs without administrator access, but with degraded performance.
When the ACP runs without administrator privileges, the following error message displays at the top of the window:
The Archer Control Panel is running with non-admin privileges, which may cause performance to be degraded. For better performance, run the Archer Control Panel with administrator privileges.
Windows User Account Control
Depending on whether User Account Control is enabled or disabled in Windows, one of the following outcomes occurs:
- When User Account Control is enabled in Windows, the ACP causes Windows to prompt for administrator access.
- When User Account Control is not enabled in Windows, the ACP automatically runs with the highest permissions available.
