Working with the Configuration Report
Use these tasks after running the Configuration report for an instance or the Archer installation.

Compare Configuration reports
- Open the Archer Control Panel.
- Go to Plugins.
- Select the Archer Configuration Report.
- Select Instance or Installation.
- In the Report History section, press and hold the CONTROL key, and then select two reports.
- Right-click one of the highlighted reports.
- Click Compare to display the reports in side-by-side columns in a Web browser window.
Delete a Configuration report
- Open the Archer Control Panel.
- Go to Plugins.
- Select the Archer Configuration Report.
- Select Instance or Installation.
- In the Report History section, do one of the following:
- To delete a report, select the report you want.
- To delete multiple reports simultaneously, press and hold the SHIFT key, and then select the first and last reports in a contiguous group. Alternatively, press and hold the CONTROL key, and then select non-contiguous reports.
- Right-click a selected report.
- Click Delete.
- Click Yes to confirm the report deletion.
Export a Configuration report
You can export a configuration report and save it as an .xml file on your computer. You can also export multiple reports simultaneously to a .zip file containing all the .xml files for the selected reports.
- Open the Archer Control Panel.
- Go to Plugins.
- Select the Archer Configuration Report.
- Select Instance or Installation.
- In the Report History section, do one of the following:
- To export a report, select the report you want.
- To export multiple reports simultaneously, press and hold the SHIFT key, and then select the first and last reports in a contiguous group. Alternatively, press and hold the CONTROL key, and then select non-contiguous reports.
- Right-click a highlighted report.
- Click Export to display a standard Save As window.
- Go to the folder in which you want to store the .xml or .zip file.
- Enter a name for the file in the File name field.
- Click Save.
Import a Configuration report
You can import an .xml file that was previously exported and saved as a configuration report. You can also import a .zip file that contains multiple .xml report files.
- Open the Archer Control Panel.
- Go to Plugins.
- Select the Archer Configuration Report.
- Right-click anywhere within the Configuration Reports section.
- Click Import to display a standard Open window.
- Go to the folder where the configuration report file that you want to import is stored.
- Select the file type depending on the whether you want to import a single report file (.xml) or multiple report file (.zip).
- Select the report file.
- Click Open.
Mark or unmark reports for retention
You can mark configuration reports for retention so that they will remain accessible in Report History indefinitely. The icon displays in red when the report is marked.
- Open the Archer Control Panel.
- Go to Plugins.
- Select the Archer Configuration Report.
- Select Instance or Installation.
- Do one of the following:
- To mark a report, click the pin icon at the right edge of the Report History section.
- To unmark a specific report, click the pin icon at the right edge of the Report History section.
Open an existing Configuration report
- Open the Archer Control Panel.
- Go to Plugins.
- Select the Archer Configuration Report.
- Select Installation or Instance.
- In the Report History section, do one of the following:
- To open a report, select the report you want.
- To open multiple reports simultaneously in individual windows, press and hold the SHIFT key, and then select the first and last reports in a contiguous group. Alternatively, press and hold the CONTROL key, and then select non-contiguous reports.
- Do one of the following:
- If you have selected a report, double-click it.
- If you have selected multiple reports, right-click one of them, and then click Open.
Refresh the Configuration report history
Use this task to update Report History with the latest list of previously generated reports.
- Open the Archer Control Panel.
- Go to Plugins.
- Select the Archer Configuration Report.
- Click Instance or Installation.
- Right-click anywhere in the Configuration Reports section.
- Click Refresh.
