Configuring an Application or Questionnaire for Engage

Archer leverages custom objects embedded in Applications and Questionnaires to communicate with Engage.

What can I publish?

You can publish questionnaires, application records, or application templates.

Before you publish an application template, an application record, or a questionnaire to your Engage users, you must create the application or questionnaire in Archer. For more information, see "Building Applications, Questionnaires, and Solutions" in the Archer Platform Help.

In questionnaires or applications intended for Engage, you can use these field types:

  • For Applications and Questionnaires:

    • Date

    • Text

    • Numeric

    • Attachment

Note: Sending attachments from Archer to Engage is not supported.

    • Values List

  • Only for Questionnaires:

    • Date Question

    • Text Question

    • Numeric Question

    • Attachment Question

    • Values List Question

Engage does not support any other field types, including calculated cross reference fields. Questionnaire comments are supported only for question field types.

When do I use an application vs. a questionnaire?

  • Use a questionnaire to collect information from external vendors and internal users.

For example, you are reviewing the security policies of a service provider.

For example, you are gathering information from Business Unit directors.

For example, you have a device assessment and need to send it to all your employees in possession of company devices.

  • Use an application to collect new information from Engage users in a specific format.

For example, a customer slips and falls inside your brick and mortar shop, and the manager needs to report the incident.

What are my options for publishing?

There are a few methods for publishing content.

Note: To avoid a synchronization back failure to Archer, it is recommended to keep the metadata unchanged after publishing a request.

Note: Configuring Single Sign-on (SSO) for your organization requires an Engage support ticket.
