Running Global Searches (Classic)

Global search enables you to search throughout Archer using keywords or phrases. Global search is available from the menu of each workspace, dashboard, application, and all other features in Archer.

Run a global search
- From the menu, click
.
- Type the keyword or phrase you are searching for.
- Press Enter.
By default, a global search displays the search results as a list with 10 records to a page. - (Optional) To filter the search list to view the results for a specific application or questionnaire, select it from the Show results from drop-down menu.
Note: There is a difference between the Global Search and the autosuggest results. Autosuggest provides you with search suggestions. These suggestions are not the actual search results. The actual results that match the keywords are displayed only when you press Enter or click the search icon.
Transition from a global search to an advanced search within an application or a questionnaire
- Run a global search.
- Click an application or questionnaire name that appears in Transfer this search to.
The search page for that application or questionnaire opens. For more information, see Running Searches in Applications and Questionnaires.
Field types not supported for global search
The following field types are not supported for global search:
- Access History
- Cross-Application Status Tracking
- Discussion
- History Log
- Multiple Reference Display Control
- Questionnaire Reference
