Classic Dashboards are groupings of iViews with related content and can be reused in multiple workspaces. They are usually configured to meet a specific user group's needs. You can create a new dashboard from scratch or copy an existing dashboard to create a new one.

Task 1: Create a Classic Dashboard

  1. From the menu, click Admin menu > Workspaces and Dashboards > Dashboards.

  2. Click Add.

  3. In the Add New dialog box, select Classic Dashboard from the drop-down.

  4. Click Add New.

Task 2: Edit dashboard properties

  1. In the General Information section, enter the name and description.

  2. In Layout Design section, select the column layout for the dashboard.

  3. (Optional) Attach supporting documentation about the configuration of your dashboard.

Task 3: Select iViews and define the layout

  1. Go to the Layout tab.

  2. Click Select iViews and do 1 of the following:

  3. Click OK.

  4. Drag to rearrange the iViews as needed.

Task 4: Determine who can access the Classic Dashboard

  1. Go to the Access tab.

  2. Select whether you want the Classic Dashboard to be public or private. If you select private, select the users, groups, roles, or solutions that you want to give access to.

Note: Assigning rights to the dashboard does not assign a user the rights to see the content in the dashboard. Users would still need rights to the iViews and the content in the iViews.

  3. Click Save.
