Archer 2024.06 Release Notes

Archer announces the release of Archer 2024.06, which includes new and updated features, and fixed issues.

Release Notes are available in English only.

Release dates

This release is available to SaaS customers in the Archer SaaS Non-Production area on June 12, 2024 and the Archer SaaS Production area on June 26, 2024.

This release is available to Archer on-premises customers on July 1, 2024.

Conditional forward compatibility of packaging enabled with exception

Important: SaaS Customers Only: It was previously announced Conditional forward compatibility for packaging is disabled for this release. However, we were able to make some product changes and packaging is enabled except under the following conditions related to the new "Event Launch" Action Node introduced in the Advanced Workflow.

During the upgrade window from Non-Production to Production, users are advised to avoid building packages on the Non-production Environment, utilizing the new AWF feature that allows setting up an Event Launch node to trigger a Data Feed, and deploying it in the production environment. This is because the AWF Event Launch Node introduces new components to the database, which are incompatible with older versions of Archer. Once the production environment has been upgraded to version 2024.06, packages built in the non-production environment can be safely ported and deployed. Please note that deploying the package on production prior to the upgrade will result in the application not functioning as intended and an upgrade post package deployment may not help resolve the issues with the package.

What's new - Platform

Advanced Workflow Evaluate Content Nodes

Advanced Workflow Evaluate Content Nodes now use the instance time zone configured in ACP to determine the current date, when evaluating the Rule Criteria for a date field. This is applicable to all Current Date type of comparison, such as days after, days before, current date, and so forth.

Launch Event node to start a data feed

A new action node is added in advanced workflows to automatically start a data feed when a record is updated.

Disk space utilization alerts for SaaS

Archer administrators on SaaS accounts will receive Archer email notifications to alert them of disk space utilization nearing 100%. For more information, see Archer SaaS DB Storage Limits.

Limits on Global Search result sets in SaaS backed by new search service

Global Search in SaaS has been optimized by reducing the number of results retrieved by search to 100 pages and applying a limit of 100k total contents matchable at a time.

Calculations

New SYSTEMTODAY() function now returns the current day based on the instance timezone instead of UTC.

Bulk Action job permissions

Archer has changed how permissions are implemented for Bulk Action Jobs:

A user without the System Administrator role can view the following:

  • Status of the jobs they created (they cannot view the status of jobs created by others).

  • Bulk Action History report for the jobs they started.

A user with Read permission selected for Set Up/Maintain Workflow Job Status Access Right can view the following:

  • Status of all jobs through the API call: http://localhost/Archer/api/V2/internal/JobStatus(X). (They cannot view all Jobs status on the Bulk Action History page.)

  • Jobs they created.

Users with the System Administrator role can view the following (this was not changed):

  • Status of all jobs in the system in the Bulk Action Bulk Action History page

  • Status of all jobs through the API call: http://localhost/Archer/api/V2/internal/JobStatus(X)

Retirement of Task Driven Landing page (TDLP)

The Task Driven Landing page (TDLP) is retiring as part of 2024.06 release. For more details, see the blog posted in the Archer community: https://www.archerirm.community/s/roadmap-blogs/retiring-the-task-driven-landing-page-tdlp/ba-p/717773

What's new - Solutions

Audit Management Workpapers

You can now empower your auditors through offline audit scenarios. No longer requiring mapping or administrative permissions, the new Excel Export/Import functionality allows auditors to retrieve and update their workpaper information seamlessly between Archer and an Excel workbook without internet access. As such, the formerly used offline functionality is now deprecated.

  • Audit Workpaper Export

The existing Excel export is now moved onto the new Excel Export/Import page, migrating from an Ext JS component to REACT. From this page, you can view the history of all performed exports, as well as download the exported files rather than receiving an email link.

  • Audit Workpaper Import

With Import, you are now able to use the template generated in the Audit Workpaper Export to easily import workpaper information. By using the export template, users can import the information without the need to add a complex mapping process.

To ensure auditors know which information to use, a glossary page containing the values of the fields selected on the Export tab is exported, allowing users to input valid information without the need of going back and forth between Excel and Archer.
