Archer SaaS Release Notes for 2026

• Column filtering is now available in inline edit and bulk update cross reference lookup.

  • Record Highlight is a new layout object that displays color-coded field values (from Values Lists, Numeric, Text, Date, or Users Groups fields) directly on the record page.

    Note: For now, Record Highlight is available only on non-production environment.

  • Here's how to add record highlight to your application layout.

    Add record highlight

    Identify key fields within your record to highlight to your end-user. You can highlight up to 4 fields.

    Important: You can apply the Display or Do Not Display conditional layout actions to show or hide the highlight.

    1. In the left pane, expand the Layout Objects list.

    2. Drag the Record Highlight layout object to the layout area.

    3. In the properties panel, add fields to your highlight by clicking the .

    4. Give the highlight a name to display on the record.

    5. Select a field to highlight. Choose one of the supported field types to display:

       • Values Lists

       • Users Groups / Record Permissions

       • Numeric

       • Text

       • Date

    6. Configure the highlight. This depends on the selected field type:

       • Numeric. Set threshold markers, each with a name, min value, max value, and color. Prefixes, suffixes, and non-significant decimal places cannot be displayed for off-layout numeric fields.

       • Values List. The color is automatically determined by the selected value's font color. You can open the Values List editor to review and modify values.

       • Text, Users Groups, Record Permissions, or Date. Set a static color for the highlight.

• Changes made by Admin to Data Driven Event Rules and Actions configuration are now captured in the Administration Activity Logs Report.

• In the new calculation engine, multi-value output functions return correct results within IF/IFS/SWITCH functions.

• Three new user attribute functions are added to the new calculation engine. These functions enable retrieval of additional user details.

  • USERNAME()

  • USERFULLNAME()

  • USERSYSTEMID()

• Single-line and block comments are now supported in formulas within the New Calculation Engine. Comment functionality is available only when formulas are executed using the New Calculation Engine. Comments are ignored during formula evaluation and do not impact results.

  Note: Package forward compatibility for formulas with comments is not supported for releases prior to 2026.06. Packages with formulas containing comments cannot be installed on versions earlier than 2026.06.

• URLs in text fields were previously converted to relative paths. With this release, URL handling has been changed to support only absolute URL formats. This enhancement resolves issues observed in OnDemand notifications, as well as in print and export functionality from both the record list and record detail pages, among other areas.

  • When field validation errors are triggered during a save or while being edited, the right panel automatically opens to the attention log.

  • You can search Users Groups and Record Permissions fields by email address.

  • If the user is actively scrolling when a save occurs, the page remains at the current scroll position.

  • Improved the record page experience by adding internal scrolling to cross-reference grids, so the entire grid always remains in view with large sets of related records, keeping navigation smooth and pagination controls always accessible.

• Microsoft 365 integration allows users to access their OneDrive and Sharepoint files through Archer, with the ability to link and view Microsoft Office documents directly from the External Links field. For more information, see the blog article Configuration for Microsoft O365 SharePoint/OneDrive Integration. This feature is currently available in Non‑Production environments only.
• Broadhead for Custom Object - Administrators can use event hooks to trigger their custom code to run before end users save the record.

  How do I run my custom code at specific events?

  Use this action to trigger your code when a specific event occurs.

  Archer allows you to trigger your code when the record is saved.

  Template:

  broadhead.registerEventHook(eventName, function, timeout);

  Parameters:

  {
  eventName: string, //The name of the event to perform. Currently, the only supported event is 'before-save'.
  function: string, //Valid JavaScript function to perform when the event happens.
  timeout: numeric //Optional parameter to timeout the event after the given time passes. Default is 30 seconds.
  }

  Before Save

  Use this to run your valid JavaScript when your end-user initiates a save.

  With this command you can:

  • Update content within the record.

  • Asynchronously run your own valid JavaScript function.

  • Stop the save from completing.

   

  Data passed to the hook

  The following information is collected for you and applied to your command as data. This information is provided for you to manipulate within your JavaScript function.

  • source: The action which initiated the save request. There are four options:

    • 'save-button' - When the user saves the record.

    • 'advanced-workflow-enrollment' - When the user uses the AWF enrollment button.

    • 'advanced-workflow-transition' - When the user uses the AWF transition button.

    • 'inline-edit' - When the user saves a cross-reference while using the inline edit modal.

  • id: The record ID being saved.

  • levelId: The level for the record being saved.

  • version: The version of the record being saved.

  • configuration: If the source is 'advanced-workflow-enrollment', the AWF Configuration for the current level.

  • transition: If the source is 'advanced-workflow-transition', the AWF Transition which initiated the save request.

  • contentFields: Array of fields that are being saved.

    • type: The type of the field.

    • fieldId: The ID of the field.

    • value: The value of the field.

  You can shape how this information is loaded into your function with a parameter like this.

  Modifying the save content

  To modify the record content before the save, your command requires a return statement.

  return { modifiedData: { contentFields } };

   

  Important: If the modifiedData shape is incorrect, an error appears in the console log and a pop-up window is presented to the user, detailing which custom object caused the error.

   

  If multiple custom objects modify the data at the same time, a delta merge combines all of the changes together. If there are any conflicts, the last merge takes precedence.

  Because all of the hooks run at the same time, there is no way to set precedence.

   

  Here is an example delta merge:

  • Original value: [1, 2, 3] (indexes are: 0, 1, 2)

  • Custom Object 1 modifies to: [5, 3, 3] (changed index 0 & 1)

  • Custom Object 2 modifies to: [1, 2, 5] (changed index 2)

  • Custom Object 3 modifies to: [1, 5, 3] (changed index 1)

  • Result: [5, 5, 5] (all changes applied and index 1 is overridden)

   

  Error handling

  When developing an interface, best practices dictate good error handling.

  You can set an error message with your custom object using the sendAction command within your registerEventHook command. It may look something like this:

  broadhead.sendAction('set-error', { fieldId: '1234', error: 'Error message' })

   

  In the event of a custom object error, the user may see a dialog box, containing:

  • One or more error messages using the text provided in the custom object.

  • A general error if a time out or other unexpected error was encountered.

  If the error is caused by a time out or unexpected system error, a copy button is provided so the user can provide technical details useful for troubleshooting.

  If the error is because of field-level errors, users can address those errors directly on the record page.

   

  Stop the Save

  You can deliberately stop the save from happening.

  Best practices dictate that you provide a reason. You can use the following pattern to ensure a dialog displays to help your end-user understand why the save stopped.

• Broadhead for Custom Object - When using the Set Metadata command for Sections, you can allow sections to be expanded or collapsed by adding "expanded: true" to the passed parameters.

• Record Page - When creating a new parent record and a Cross Reference child record in a new tab, the child record displays a banner until the parent record is created.

• Archer to Archer data feed - Administrators can use a single internal service account to manage their Archer to Archer data feeds in a more secure, portable, and friendly way.

• Global Values List changes now update the Last Updated timestamp on all referencing fields. This improves traceability of behavior changes and strengthens governance by clarifying when GVL update access should be restricted to authorized application administrators.

Quick Links on Classic pages

Issue: Users may encounter an unexpected Error pop-up when accessing Classic end-user pages (such as Advanced Search, New Record, Default Search and Schedules) using Quick Links from workspaces with the NGD dashboard. This behavior can interrupt navigation and may prevent access to the intended pages. This impacts only Classic, not NGRX.NGD dashboard. Workaround: Use the main menu to navigate.

1. From the menu click > Application.

2. Select the required option, for example, Default Search, Advanced Search, New Record, Schedules.

• Reports with User Groups and Record Permission fields have more information than other reports. To provide as much screen real estate as possible for this information and a cleaner viewing experience, this update hides avatars and icon images on these reports.

• View and export record History Logs directly from Search results to quickly see who changed what and when, without opening individual records.

  • The Broadhead Fetch action now supports retrieving attached PDF files from Attachment fields.

  • Values List fields in edit mode now display both the value text and its image, making it easier to identify and update similar‑looking options.

  • The Multi‑Reference Display Control (MRDC) field Lookup now supports both single and multiple selection based on maximum allowed selections.

  • Handling of large file attachments has been improved for more reliable and scalable uploads and downloads of images and other large files.

• Administration Activity Logs Reports. These reports have been enhanced to track administrative changes. The enhancements include the following capabilities.

  • Creating and deleting layout objects, and updating layout object properties.

  • Creating and deleting layouts.

  • Creating, deleting, and updating rule properties, as well as changes to rule order.
    

• Dashboard row format visualization display. You can configure your reports to display the search results in a row layout where fields are stacked vertically, and records are separated by horizontal lines. For more information, see Display Options in the Platform Help.

  Important: Clear your browser cache to ensure the latest dashboard changes are reflected.

• Dashboards - You can create widgets that contain Bing Map reports.

• Record page.

  • New UI - Attachment maximum size has increased to 4 GB for Attachment and Questionnaire Attachment field-types. (Deferred to a future release)

  • Classic UI - Attachment field type continues to support up to 100 MB.

• Transport Layer Security. Archer is enhancing platform security options with the introduction of support for Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.3.
