Layouts

In an application, questionnaire, or sub-form, you present data to users in a layout. Layouts primarily arrange and group fields, but you can also add text boxes, trending charts, reports, and more. If advanced workflow is enabled in your application, you can have multiple layouts, 1 for each step in the workflow.

What can you add to a layout?

You can drag-and-drop objects, such as fields, tab sets, sections, text boxes, placeholders, custom objects, and trending charts on the layouts of applications, questionnaires, and sub-forms. After adding an object to the layout area, you can move the object up or down, from column to column, or from tab to tab. You can also configure some objects to span across multiple columns in the layout. For more information, see Adding Fields to the Layout and Adding Objects to the Layout.

Who can work with layouts?

Through an access role, you must have the following rights:

  • Configuration administrator of the application or questionnaire.
  • The appropriate CRUD access role settings to the Administration | Application Builder | Manage Applications page.

  1. Build an application, questionnaire, or sub-form.
  2. Add objects to the layout.
  3. Add fields to the layout.
  4. Manage the layouts. You can delete or copy existing layouts or add additional layouts.
